Is Palo Brunch Worth It on a Disney Cruise? Full Review

Intro

If you’re sailing on the Disney Fantasy (or Magic/Wonder/Dream), you’ve probably heard about Palo Brunch—and wondered…

👉 Is it actually worth the extra cost?

We finally experienced Palo Brunch for the first time on our recent transatlantic sailing (November 2025), and honestly… it completely lived up to the hype.

From the food to the atmosphere to the service, this ended up being one of the most memorable meals of our entire cruise.

Here’s everything you need to know before booking—including the menu, cost, what we ordered, and whether we’d do it again.

🥂 What Is Palo Brunch?

Palo is an adults-only Italian restaurant onboard Disney Cruise Line ships.

Brunch at Palo is a more relaxed, upscale dining experience compared to the main dining rooms.

👉 Think:

  • Quiet atmosphere (no kids 👀)
  • Ocean views
  • Slower, more leisurely pace
  • High-end Italian-inspired dishes

For us, it felt like a true “date night” experience at sea.

💰 Palo Brunch Cost (and What’s Included)

At the time of our sailing, Palo Brunch was:

👉 $50 per person

Here’s what’s included:

  • Unlimited ordering from the menu
  • Appetizers, entrées, pizza, and desserts
  • Bread service and pastries
  • A welcome drink (mimosa, prosecco, or non-alcoholic option such as Cloudem)
  • Coffee, tea, and soft drinks

👉 Important notes:

  • Gratuity is automatically added (we tipped extra because service was amazing)
  • Alcohol beyond the welcome drink costs extra

🍽️ How the Ordering Works

One of the best parts?

👉 You can order as much as you want

The menu is broken into sections:

  • Antipasti (appetizers)
  • Eggs & breakfast items
  • Pizza & lighter fare
  • Entrées (Italian dishes like lasagna, chicken parm, etc.)
  • Desserts

You’ll typically place your order up front, and the food comes out in waves.

Pro tip:
Come hungry… seriously 😅

🍴 What We Ordered (and Our Favorites)

We tried a mix of the most popular items—and there were some clear standouts:

🧀 Antipasti & Bread Service

  • Assorted meats, cheeses, and breads
  • Truffle cheese + parmesan
  • Ahi tuna
  • Sauces like aioli, mustard, and horseradish

👉 Great way to start, but don’t fill up too fast!

🍳 Eggs Benedict (Highly Recommended)

We tried:

  • Salmon with caviar
  • Rosemary ham

👉 These are signature items and definitely worth ordering.

🍕 Fresh Pizza

Palo brunch pizza
  • Half margherita, half spicy sausage

👉 Freshly made and surprisingly good—even after multiple courses

🍝 Entrées

  • Chicken Parmesan (server recommended – AMAZING)
  • Lasagna (rich and super satisfying)

👉 These are heavy, so pace yourself!

🍰 Desserts

We tried:

  • Chocolate fondant (lava cake style)
  • Limoncello tart
  • Panna cotta (our favorite!)

👉 The panna cotta was the winner—light, flavorful, and perfect after such a big meal

🌊 Atmosphere & Experience

Palo brunch atmosphere

This is where Palo really shines.

  • Quiet, adults-only environment
  • Beautiful ocean views
  • Italian music playing in the background
  • Relaxed, unhurried dining (our meal lasted ~2 hours)

👉 It felt like a break from the busy energy of the ship

Honestly, this alone makes it worth it.

🤔 Is Palo Brunch Worth It?

Short answer: Yes—for most people

But here’s the honest breakdown:

✅ Worth It If You:

  • Want a more upscale dining experience
  • Are celebrating something special
  • Enjoy trying a variety of foods
  • Want a quiet, kid-free meal

❌ Maybe Skip If You:

  • Are on a tight budget
  • Feel satisfied with included dining options
  • Prefer quick meals vs long dining experiences

💡 Our Honest Take

We went into this wondering if paying extra was really necessary… especially since so much food is already included on a Disney cruise.

But here’s the thing:

👉 If this meal were on land for $50 per person, it would be a no-brainer.

Between:

  • The quality of food
  • The amount of food
  • The service
  • The atmosphere

…it felt like an incredible value.

📝 Tips Before You Go

  • Come hungry (or even skip breakfast)
  • Ask your server for recommendations
  • Don’t over-order early—you can always add more
  • Save room for dessert
  • Plan for a long, relaxing meal (about 2 hours)

❤️ Final Thoughts

Palo brunch

Palo Brunch ended up being one of our favorite experiences on the cruise.

It’s not something we’d necessarily do every sailing—but for:

  • Longer cruises
  • Special occasions
  • Or just a relaxing “date” onboard

👉 We would absolutely book it again.
