During our trip to Europe in May of this year, we had the chance to make a quick stop in Glasgow on our way from Edinburgh to Dublin. After reading mixed reviews – many that said Glasgow is “just another metropolitan city” – we debated if it was worth spending any time there. I can tell you we had a fun time in Glasgow and I am glad we didn’t listen to those negative reviews.
Visiting Edinburgh, Scotland
Stop #2 on our last trip to Europe was Edinburgh, Scotland. I had heard great things about Scotland, but had never visited myself, so I was very excited. Lucky for me the city did not disappoint, as Edinburgh was the highlight of my trip!
London: A Review in Photos
It’s already been just over a month since we got back from our most recent European vacation. Life has been busy, so it’s taken me longer than I’d prefer to get around to posting!
As promised, I wanted to share some photos, reviews, and tips of the places we went. Naturally I’m starting with London since that was the first and last city we visited. Although we didn’t stay in London for very long, we were still able to see most of the main tourist sites and then some.
On our first full day, we visited the Tower of London & Tower Bridge. We didn’t actually go inside the Tower, but still got some great views from beyond the walls.
The UK & Ireland Ranked
Hi all! Sorry for the month-delay in posting – I’ve been busy, busy, busy since returning from our backpacking trip, which was amazing by the way! I was able to post some photos on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, so be sure to follow us if you’re not already!
During this trip we visited London, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Dublin. I had previously visited London way back in 2003 and Dublin in 2008, so long enough to still see each city through new eyes.
If you’re thinking about taking a backpacking trip to any of these places, I recommend seeing them all, and then some! But if you’re limited on time and can only pick one or two, I thought it might help to rank them by my overall favorites:
