If you’re planning a cruise on the Disney Fantasy and considering an obstructed oceanview stateroom (category 09D), you might come across some of the forward-facing rooms like Cabin 7004.
We recently stayed in Room 7004 (Forward Oceanview) and found it to be a little different than your typical oceanview cabin—with some surprising pros and a few things to be aware of.
In this post, we’re breaking down the full layout, storage, bathroom setup, and what makes this room unique so you can decide if it’s the right fit for your cruise.

🚪 First Impressions: More Space Than Expected

Right away, one thing stood out—the entryway felt noticeably wider than other oceanview rooms we’ve stayed in.
That extra space makes a big difference when:
- Unpacking
- Getting ready in the mornings
- Navigating the room as a family
It immediately felt less cramped than a standard layout.
🧳 Storage & Closet Space

Storage in this room is pretty standard compared to other oceanview cabins. There are dual closets with plenty of space and drawers and shelves for extra storage. We did notice that the storage cabinets themselves were a bit limited compared to a typical room with a more extended walkway.
You’ll find:
- Multiple closets with plenty of hangers
- In-room safe
- Drawers and cabinets throughout the room
- Mini fridge
- Extra storage for room service items and personal belongings
👉 If you’re cruising as a family, you’ll have more than enough space to stay organized.
🛏️ Sleeping Setup (Great for Families)

The room comfortably sleeps up to 3 guests:
- Main bed (queen)
- Sofa that converts into a sofa bed
This worked perfectly for our family, with our son using the sofa bed.
⚠️ Important: No Privacy Divider
One key difference in this room:
👉 There is NO privacy curtain/divider
This is something many Disney Cruise Line rooms do have, so it’s worth noting.
What this means:
- Less separation between sleeping areas
- Not ideal if traveling with older kids or another adult
For us, it wasn’t a big deal—but it’s definitely something to consider depending on your group.
🛋️ Extra Seating & Vanity Area

A nice bonus in this room:
👉 An extra chair
This isn’t always included in standard oceanview rooms, and it makes the space feel more functional.
You’ll also get:
- Vanity/desk area
- TV and storage combo
- Additional drawers and shelving
🌊 What Makes This Room Unique: The Forward Slanted Window

This is the standout feature of Cabin 7004.
Because the room is at the front (forward) of the ship, the window is:
- Slightly slanted
- Not a traditional side-facing oceanview
What we experienced:
- Still had a great view of the ocean
- Being on Deck 7 helped us see the water clearly
- Unique perspective compared to standard rooms
👉 If you like trying something different, this layout is pretty cool.
🔌 Outlets & Charging

Here’s what you’ll find for power:
- 2 USB ports
- Standard US outlets
- European outlets (bring an adapter!)
Tip:
Most outlets are on one side of the bed, so you may want to plan ahead (or flip a coin 😄).
🚿 Split Bathroom Setup (One of Disney’s Best Features)

Like most Disney Cruise Line rooms, this cabin features a split bathroom, which is a huge win for families.
You get:
- One room with toilet + sink
- One room with tub/shower + sink
Highlights:
- Larger rectangular tub (not the smaller round style)
- Sea Marine bath products
- Plenty of storage space
- Mickey-themed toiletries 🐭
👉 This setup makes getting ready SO much easier.
👍 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros:
- Spacious entryway
- Tons of storage
- Unique forward-facing view
- Split bathroom with larger tub
- Extra seating area
❌ Cons:
- No privacy divider
- Limited outlet placement
- Forward location may not be for everyone (motion can be slightly more noticeable for some)
💡 Final Thoughts: Is An Obstructed Oceanview Cabin Worth It?

Overall, we were really happy with this room.
The extra space and unique layout made it feel like a great value—especially since we booked it as a guaranteed room (GTY) and got a good deal.
If you:
- Don’t need a privacy divider
- Want something a little different
- Are cruising as a small family
👉 This is a solid option on the Disney Fantasy.
